Christine Cleary is a private flute instructor and freelance flutist in the DFW area.  She has flute performance degrees from Kent State University and Ohio University.  After earning her Master's degree in flute she moved to Texas to pursue full time private teaching.  She is married to Woodwinds specialist, Mark Dooly, and they have two children. She is also a partner with T4 Music mentor, a nationally marketed online video private lesson program and part owner of doolywoodwinds.com, which provides woodwind accessories.

Dr. Martin Godoy - Flute

Martin Godoy serves as the color guard director at Colleyville Heritage High School. He previously served as the color guard director of the UT Arlington Band and co-director of the UT Arlington Dance Ensemble. Mr. Godoy was a member of The Bluecoats color guard in 2006-2007 and The Cavaliers color guard in 2008 whose program earned them 3rd place at world championships. He is a member of Black Gold Independent World Winter Guard and Danielle Georgiou Dance Group. He has also danced with Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet and Wichita Falls Ballet. In 2014, he was selected to participate at the Domaine Forget International Dance Academy in Canada.

Outside of realms dance and color guard, Mr. Godoy holds a Bachelor of Music (Education) and Master of Music in Flute Performance from UT Arlington and Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas. He has competed at the National Flute Association Young Artist competition and in the Ernest Bloch International Music Competition and subs for the Dallas Winds.

Kristin Beene - Oboe

Kristen Lindenberger Beene is happy to be back in her home state after over thirty years of of enjoying an active career in music and raising her children. As a three time All State Oboist and Graduate from MacArthur HS in Irving, TX, she went on to Graduate from Baylor University with Bachelor Degrees in both Music Performance and Music Education. While pursuing a Master’s degree in Music at SMU, Ms Beene performed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Ballet Orchestra and many local groups, as well as teaching 45 oboe students each week. As her life expanded, she left Texas, beginning with a 6 year position in the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, then 3 years with the Lansing Symphony in Michigan, 17 years with the Toledo Symphony orchestra, 6 Years as principal oboe with the Ann Arbor Symphony and ending with her favorite position of all, Principal Oboe of the Michigan Opera Theater for 10 years. In addition, she played often with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Detroit chamber Winds as well as many exciting performances with amazing musician friends along the way.
Ms Beene has traveled extensively, performing with festival orchestras numerous times, including St Barthelemy Festival de Musique, French West Indies, Strings in the Mountains, Steamboat Springs, CO., Bellingham Festival of Music, Bellingham, WA., Basically Bach Music Festival Anchorage, Alaska, Colorado Music Festival, Boulder, CO, Sunflower Music Festival, Topeka, KS, as well as a two week European tour with the Wichita Symphony, playing in some of the greatest Halls in Europe and a performance at the WASBE conference in Lucerne Switzerland with the Detroit Chamber Winds.
Kristen has always maintained a private teaching studio, as well as serving on adjunct faculties at University of Toledo, Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Rice University in Houston as well as a semester sabbatical replacement position teaching Oboe at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
She is currently living in the DFW area, enjoying a very full teaching schedule as well as performing with old and new colleagues alike in a variety of musical groups as needed, including the Ft. Worth Symphony, the Lawton Philharmonic and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, as well as Churches in the DFW area. Kristen Lindenberger Beene has two wonderful children. Ryan Beene is a journalist with Automotive News in Washington, DC. and Katy Beene is an Anthropologist working in Seattle, Washingington.

Dr. Janelle Ott has been teaching privately in the DFW area since 2009.  In addition to her private studio, she serves as adjunct faculty at Abilene Christian University, Hardin-Simmons University, and McMurry University.  She also maintains an active freelance career throughout Texas, and is a member of the Key City Winds woodwind quintet.  Janelle is currently co-habiting with an amazing dog and mildly evil cat, and enjoys running the occasional 5K.  She holds degrees from UNT, Indiana University, Wichita State University, and Luther College.

Jeanene Loppolo Johnson graduated Magna Cum Laude from TWU with a Bachelor in Music Education. She served as the Principal Clarinetist in the Wind Ensemble and Lead Alto in Jazz Band II. She also participated in Sigma Alpha Iota and served as Editor, Treasurer and VP Ritual. She received the SAI Honor Award, SAI Scholastic Award, SAI Leadership Award and was twice the recipient of the SAI Marjory Murphy Scholarship Award. She was also selected for the Presidential Honors Concert, was awarded Music Major of the Year, and participated as an officer in Alpha Chi, Kappa Delta Pi and Mortar Board Honor Societies.

Jeanene graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Christian University with a Masters in Clarinet Performance. She was awarded a graduate assistantship under professor Gary Whitman. She served as the Principal Clarinetist of the TCU Wind Symphony as well as the Principal Clarinetist of TCU Symphony Orchestra. She is featured on TCU's compact disk, Regenesis - Music Of Renewal performing the extended clarinet solo on Alfred Reed's Variations on the "Porazzi" Theme of Richard Wagner. She was also selected for membership in Pi Kappa Lambda, National Music Honor Society and served as substitute Principal Clarinet in the Los Colinas Symphony.

​Jeanene is an active clinician, performer and private teacher in the DFW area. She has been a featured soloist in many short film and full feature film compositions of DFW composer Douglas Edward. She has taught clarinet and saxophone lessons since 2006 in GCISD and has also taught clarinet sectionals & ensembles for the TCU Summer Band Program since 2009. Jeanene also served as Adjunct Professor of Clarinet and Director of Clarinet ensembles at Tarleton State University from 2007-2012. She is an active member of Texas Music Educators Association and The International Clarinet Association. She enjoys all things clarinet, running, baking, taking photographs with her husband Stephen and spending time with her awesome 2 year old Christian!

Michael Patterson - Clarinet/Saxophone

Michael Patterson is a graduate of Hardin Simmons University (BM, MM). He has taught as a private music instructor in the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and various parts of northeast Fort Worth for the past 20 years. He has performed with the Plano Symphony, East Texas Symphony, Texas Winds Musical Outreach chamber groups, Casa Manana Orchestra, Abilene Opera Orchestra, Abilene Philharmonic, and Wichita Falls Symphony. He has also toured and recorded with the AETC Air Force Band. Some of the performers that he has performed with are trumpeter Doc Severinsen, singer/songwriter Paul Williams, Van Cliburn gold medalist Jose Feghali, saxophonist Eugene Rousseau, guitarist Pepe Romero, and Cirque du Soleil. He has studied with Dr. Raphael Sanders, Daryl Coad, Andy Crisanti, Elsa Ludwig Verdehr, Martha Boggs and Dr. J. Eric Wilson. ​

Randall Graham - Trumpet

Randy Graham (trumpet) has been teaching trumpet lessons privately for 28 years, the last 17 of those years have been in GCISD. He received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from WTAMU and attended UNT graduate school to focus on Jazz Studies. Mr. Graham currently performs in many groups in the DFW from classical to jazz as well as easy listening to the hardest of rock. He has been involved in the DFW live music scene for over 28 years. He is also a vocalist (but don't tell anybody) and can be heard on 12 CD's. Mr. Graham has also performed with many famous people such as Harry Connick, Jr. and Elvira, just to name a couple. He has been married for 29 years and his hobbies include Harleys, hot-rods, biking, yoga and bowling. Mr. Graham is excited to continue to teach in GCISD and help the music program grow with great trumpet players!

Nathan Phillip

Nathan Philipp is an active performer, composer, and educator in the DFW area. On horn Mr. Philipp currently performs as a freelance artist, with Richardson’s Early Brass Ensemble, and with his brass quintet. Previously he has worked with the Johnson City Symphony and the Appalachian Brass Orchestra.  Equally at home in composition, his works have been performed internationally and he has been commissioned to write for band and chorus.  Currently he is teaching music theory at Richland College in Dallas Texas and maintains a private studio of horn and composition students.  Mr. Philipp holds a bachelors degree in music education from East Tennessee State University, a master of arts in music theory from Radford University, and is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of North Texas. His research interests include modern tonality and film music. He has presented academic research at regional conferences in 2010 and 2012, as well as the College Music Society National Convention in 2011. He is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, Texas Music Educators Association, and The Society for Music Theory. Mr. Philipp currently resides in Rowlett TX with his wife Leita.

Teresa Francis - Horn

Teresa K. Francis is recently retired from middle school band directing after 28 years of service. Her latest position was as assistant band director in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District where she taught for  8 years. She is now teaching privately in several local school districts and an active performer on her instrument.  She is a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
As a performing musician, Mrs. Francis has performed in numerous professional orchestras including the Symphony of Southeast Texas and the Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with the Greater Fort Worth Community Band at the Eisemann Performance Center at the Association of Concert Bands National Convention, served as principal horn with the Texas Lone Star Community Band on tours of Australia, Italy, France and England.  She is currently a member of the orchestra at Whites Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas.  She is in demand as a clinician, horn specialist and adjudicator. 
Mrs. Francis lives in Colleyville, Texas with her husband Bobby- who serves as Director of Bands at Texas Christian University.  They have two daughters, Tamsyn – 22 and Breelyn – 15 years old, both of whom are active in music activities of their own.  She also has several four legged, fuzzy members of the family-two cute dachshunds and two very spoiled cats.

Dylan Toombs - Low Brass

Dylan Toombs is excited to return to Grapevine as a low-brass specialist for the 2020-2021 school year! 
Toombs is a teacher, consultant, clinician and arranger for numerous bands from across the country. He is a brass specialist in the Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex, where he maintains a studio of over sixty middle school through college aged students. His students have consistently won positions within the TMEA All-State ensembles, the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, and countless other drum corps and college ensembles.
He is proud to have joined The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2020 season, and he is looking forward to the prospective 2021 season. Toombs was previously a member of the Carolina Crown brass staff for five years, and a performing member of the corps the three years prior. During his tenure at Carolina Crown, he was a part of five Jim Ott high brass awards as well as a world championship in 2013. Toombs received brass member of the year in 2014.
Dylan earned his degree from the University of North Texas in Music Performance with a concentration in Euphonium Performance. During his educational endeavors at the University of North Texas, he was honored to study with the world-renown Dr. Brian Bowman, who instilled a great love of brass pedagogy and performance within him. Dylan now enjoys life as an active performer and soloist.
Dylan is going on year seven as a visual specialist, music consultant, and design advisor for the Marcus High School Marching Band, in Flower Mound, TX. During his time at Marcus, he has been a part of a UIL State Championship in 2014, a UIL Bronze Medal in 2016, and a 4th place BOA Grand Nationals finish in 2017.

Mr. Jeffreys started playing euphonium in the 6th grade and has been playing low brass for almost 20 years now! Randil studied Music Education at the University of Houston (Go Coogs!), Euphonium Performance at Idaho State University, and completed a Masters of Arts in Brass Performance at the University of Iowa where he served as the Tuba/Euphonium Studio Teaching Assistant. He has been teaching in the DFW area for 3 years now, teaching both private lessons and marching bands across the metroplex. In addition, he has also taught drum corps with the Colt Cadets (as Brass Caption Head) and at The Cavaliers, where he also marched for several seasons winning multiple world championships. Randil absolutely loves playing his instrument, but loves helping young students realize their abilities and fostering their love for music even more!  ​

Shawn Clokey was raised in Boise, Idaho.  Mr. Clokey received his Bachelor of Music Degree from Boise State University and a Masters Degree in Orchestral Performance from the University of North Texas.  He is currently all but dissertation on his Doctorate degree at the University of North Texas.  Mr. Clokey has studied with Vern Kagarice of the University of North Texas and Dennis Bubert of the Fort Worth Symphony.  He has served in the 25th Army Band for 8 years as a trombone and euphonium player.  He is currently performing with the 531st Air Force Band and has been with them since 1998.  Mr. Clokey has been teaching privately since 1988.  He teaches in Highland Park, Lake Dallas, Grapevine-Colleyville and Saginaw.  Many of his past students earn all-region honors.  Some are selected for area and state.  Past students have also been members of GDYO and LSYO.
