Road to TMEA All-State
During each school year, high school students throughout Texas will prepare music in order to audition for a place in a Region Band. If selected to advance further, they have the opportunity to represent their Area or even the state of Texas.
The music in preparation for these auditions is released in July and is used for student's placement auditions going into the Spring.
Every member of the program is expected to practice and learn these etudes.
Private Lessons are a GREAT way to get ahead and boost your chances of making a Region Band. If you are currently not taking private lessons, reach out to one of our district approved instructors HERE.

The 2026-2027 TJEA all-state jazz etudes and improvisation tracks are available HERE (must use your GCISD email address to access). Auditions for all-region jazz take place in September.
The TMEA classical etudes for the 26-27 will be announced in late July. When the announcement comes they will be linked here.
