Dylan Toombs
Toombs is a teacher, consultant, clinician, and arranger for numerous bands from across the country. He is a brass specialist in the Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex, where he maintains a studio of over sixty middle-school through college-aged students. His students have consistently won positions within the TMEA All-State ensembles, the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, and countless other drum corps and college ensembles.
Dylan is proud to have joined The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2020 as an ensemble specialist. Toombs was previously a member of the Carolina Crown brass staff for five years, and a performing member of the corps the three years prior. During his tenure at Carolina Crown, he was a part of five Jim Ott high brass awards as well as a world championship in 2013. Toombs received “Brass Member of the Year” in 2014.
Dylan earned his degree from the University of North Texas in Music Performance with a concentration in Euphonium Performance. During his educational endeavors at the University of North Texas, he was honored to study with the world-renown Dr. Brian Bowman, who instilled a great love of brass pedagogy and performance within him. Dylan now enjoys life as an active performer and soloist.
Dylan is going on year eight as a visual specialist, music consultant, and design advisor for the Marcus High School Marching Band, in Flower Mound, TX. During his time at Marcus, he has been a part of a UIL State Championship in 2014, a UIL Bronze Medal in 2016, and a 4th place BOA Grand Nationals finish in 2017.
Most recently, Toombs co-founded and serves as the music arranger for Collective Marching Designs, an up-and-coming marching design team that focuses on bringing fresh and achievable productions to groups of all budgets, levels, and sizes.
