Rachel Milton
Ms. Milton is excited to join the Grapevine High School Band as the Associate Director of Bands!
Prior to her appointment in Grapevine, Ms. Milton served as the Director of Bands at Ronald W. Reagan Middle School in Grand Prairie ISD, where her bands earned consistent Superior Ratings in the UIL Concert & Sight Reading process. Additionally, she was the Grand Prairie ISD Middle School Band Coordinator where she supported seven middle school band programs by facilitating district-wide events, instrument repairs, supply purchases and distribution, and was a liaison to the district leadership. Before her tenure in Grand Prairie, She began her teaching career as the Assistant Band Director at Granbury Middle School in Granbury ISD, where her band earned Superior Ratings in the UIL Concert & Sight Reading process.
Ms. Milton is a DFW native and graduated from Lone Star High School in Frisco ISD. She went on to graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Music Education. Ms. Milton was a Saxophone Section leader in The Lumberjack Marching Band under the direction of Dr. Tamey Anglley and Dr. Dan Haddad, a four-year member of the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. David Campo and Dr. Tamey Anglley, a saxophonist in the Roarin’ Buzzsaws basketball pep band under Dr. Chris Kaatz, as well as principal oboist of the Orchestra of the Pines under Dr. Gregory Grabowski. She studied oboe under Dr. Abby Yeakle Held and Dr. Graham Mackenzie.
Ms. Milton is an active member of Texas Music Educators Association, as well as professionally affiliated with Tau Beta Sigma National Music Sorority. When Ms. Milton is not teaching, she enjoys reading, musicals, watching movies, supporting the Texas Rangers, playing on a coed softball team. and performing on oboe & English horn in the Mansfield Philharmonic Orchestra and Frisco Community Band.
