Jackson Sandre
Mr. Sandre is entering his second year as Assistant Director of Bands at Grapevine High School, where he directs the Symphonic Band, Jazz program, the musical pit orchestra, and assists with the marching band. Under his direction, the Symphonic Band earned unanimous Superior ratings at the 2026 UIL Region 31 Concert and Sightreading Evaluation, Jazz II received first place in its class at the 2026 TCU Jazz Festival and the Wylie East Jazz Festival, and the musical pit orchestra earned Outstanding Orchestra honors at the 2026 Schmidt & Jones HSMTA Awards.
Before beginning his teaching career in Grapevine, Mr. Sandre completed his student teaching in Dripping Springs ISD, where he was named Baylor University’s Band Student Teacher of the Year. He has served as a marching technician at Troy High School and Dripping Springs High School, and has taught saxophone lessons and masterclasses in Round Rock ISD. He also continues to work as a counselor for the Baylor Band and Orchestra Summer Camps.
Originally from central Illinois, Mr. Sandre moved to Round Rock, Texas during middle school after beginning saxophone in fifth grade. Following his graduation from Cedar Ridge High School, he attended Baylor University and earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree. During his time at Baylor, he performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Golden Wave Marching Band, the Wayne Fisher Jazz Program, and the Script and Kismet saxophone quartets. He also served as saxophone section leader for the Golden Wave Band and later as a member of the undergraduate staff team.
In high school, Mr. Sandre helped lead the Cedar Ridge Saxophone Choir to a performance at The Midwest Clinic during the ensemble’s inaugural year. Additional notable performances include the Baylor Wind Ensemble appearance at the 2022 Midwest Clinic and saxophone quartet and choir performances at regional conventions hosted by the North American Saxophone Alliance.
Mr. Sandre’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Kappa Kappa Psi, the North American Saxophone Alliance, and the National Association for Music Education.
Outside of teaching, he enjoys attending concerts, playing video games, traveling, and spending time with his cats Gene and Ella.
